Young Scientists Sessions & Awards
TIAFT and ICADTS are both committed to the professional developments of young scientists and new researchers in the field, and wish to encourage participation and career development in this group to keep our profession energetic and growing. To this end a special Young Scientists session (under age 40) has been scheduled for Saturday August 25th, immediately prior to the start of the conference.
To attend the young scientists symposium you must be registered for T2007, however there is no additional fee to attend this session (breaks and lunch are provided).

In addition, both ICADTS and TIAFT are offering awards for the best scientific work presented in several categories.
TIAFT Awards for Best Papers
T2007 is offering a series of awards for outstanding scientific work by young presenters.
To be eligible for these awards, the candidate must be
- the first author of the oral/poster abstract or the scientific paper,
- and the candidate, or one of his/her co-authors, must be a TIAFT member.

Three awards are offered:
- Best published paper: This recognizes the best published work by a young scientist from the twelve months prior to the meeting.
- Best Poster presentation: This award recognizes the best poster presentation by a young scientist.
- Best Platform presentation: This award recognizes excellence in the oral presentation of research by a young scientist at the T2007 meeting
The winners of the 3 prizes will be announced at the TIAFT business meeting, and the prizes will be awarded at the Farewell Banquet during each meeting.

ICADTS Award
One Award is Offered for best presentation at an international meeting by a first time presenter.
This award is established to encourage emerging scientists and researchers to present their work at future ICADTS meetings. The best original work by a presenter in the field of alcohol, drugs and traffic safety, presented for the first time at an international meeting (presenters who have presented at regional or local meetings are eligible for consideration.
